Hyderabad latest news: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted searches in 5 locations within Hyderabad to investigate land deals in connection with the case of the case of senior IAS official D Amoy Kumar.

Investigations were conducted into suspected individuals, such as Munawar Khan Khaderunnisa among others identified as defendants in the Maheswaram police station investigation. Old city locations of Hyderabad were among the locations searched.

The investigations are part of ongoing investigations that started after ED was questioned by D Amoy Kumar in October 2024. Kumar is now working as the head of the department for animal husbandry was the previous district collector for Rangareddy during the time when the alleged land dispute occurred.

Although Kumar is not listed as a suspect but his actions are under investigation, particularly in regard to using the Dharani portal as well as the registration of properties that fall under prohibited categories.

The probe stems from an FIR lodged by Maheswaram police last year in response to a private complaint filed to the police by Dastagir Shareef, a resident of Mehdipatnam.

The complaint claimed fraudulent registration and a mutation of a property in dispute even though the land was notified in the 22-A list of prohibited lists that is part of the Telangana Registration of Stamps Act.

The FIR identifies several suspects of being involved, including Khaderunnisa, Mohammed Munawar Khan, RP Jyothi (MRO/joint sub-registrar of Maheswaram), Bobbili Damodar Reddy, Bobbili Viswanath Reddy, N Santosh Kumar, and Kondapally Sridhar Reddy.

The complainant asserted they were accused of in collaboration together with officials, altered income records and issued fraudulent passesbooks and sale deeds to property measuring 32 acres and 43 guns in Nagaram village. ED is looking into the issue of money laundering in the matter sources told the media.
